Tinted Glass

Tinted Glass absorbs 30% to 45% of the solar heat incident on the glass surface (depending on tint and thickness) and thus reduces the quantity of heat flowing into the buildings, lessening cooling-load on air-conditioning and saving energy costs. Tinted glass is widely used for commercial buildings and interior design, it has the added benefit of giving the outside of a building a more uniform, aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Reflective Glass

Reflective glass is glass that has been treated with a metallic coating to allow it to reflect heat, it reflects radiation rather than absorbing it. This type of glass is used in environmentally friendly construction with the goal of reducing heat gain and loss, making structures much cheaper to heat and cool over the course of the year. Reflective auto glass is also available for installation in environmentally friendly vehicles.

Reflective glass also has a special metallic coating that makes it possible to see out, while preventing people from seeing in, in order to preserve privacy during the day. Another use for reflective glass is in rooms where the climate needs to be tightly controlled, as seen in some scientific labs. In this case, the glass can be one of several measures used to keep the temperature inside the room as stable as possible. Figured Glass

Figured glass (also called decorative or obscure glass or pattern glass) is produced by rolling a textured pattern onto one side of a sheet of molten glass as it cooled, leaving a permanent imprint behind. The result was a patterned surface that reduced transparency, yet didn’t diminish the passage of light. Because figured glass was about the same thickness as regular glass, it could be substituted for the latter in areas where people wanted their light served with a measure of modesty. This need made figured glass popular for a variety of uses, such as bathroom and foyer windows, as well as more creative displays, such as transoms and interior doors.
